3. Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Move over Thanksgiving – every year, the city of Chicago holds a St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The
parade travels from Columbus Dr. to Balbo St. to Monroe St. and begins at noon.

on Saturday, March 14 and will begin at noon. Drink and have fun with friends while watching

4. 2020 St. Paddy’s Day 5K & 8K Run/Walk
St. Patrick’s Day celebrating doesn’t have to be all about the whiskey, beer, and food. There are
plenty of activities like the St. Paddy’s Day 5K & 8K Run/Walk that the whole family can
participate in. The St. Paddy’s Day Run (formerly known as the Leprechaun Leap) is celebrating
its 19 th year in 2020. Participants are encouraged to wear green – awards are given out to “Best
dressed.”

The event is held at Lincoln Park, across the street from the Peggy Notebart Nature Museum
near the south end of Diversey Harbor. The entire course features scenic views of Chicago’s
dynamic lakefront. This year’s race will begin at 9:30AM on Saturday, March 14. Every participant will receive a
shirt, a finisher’s medal, and a post-race beer at the post-race party.
