Image Block will prevent Safari from loading images while you surf. Activate it by clicking on the Image Block button and the next page loaded will not download pictures. Use it when you need faster load time, have low bandwidth, or only want text. Note: Some images may still appear.
Image Block includes The Best Price, our revolutionary price comparison engine. It can be deactivated should you really not want to get notified of better offers while browsing a shopping site!

Image block works fine. Now it loads the images only if it is disabled. But i would like to have two different icons, one if Image Block is acetic, and another if it isn’t. Or better not a switch, but a push-button. There are no images present, but if I press the button, the images will only be loader once for this site…
Kind regards,
Andreas
I would like to suggest the implementation of a keyboard shortcut for faster access. This would be great.
Many thanks and best wishes.
Nice suggestion! We will probably add it to the next Image Block release.
How about extending the plugin to selectively load or block images from certain websites – like the standard feature in FireFox?
Hi Kelly, that’s a good idea. We will discuss that feature for the next version…
I agree. The Firefox Preferences > Load Images Automatically > Exceptions button is great.
Thanks Ole!
Still waiting for SafariImgLikeOpera, if you know what I mean…
Hi,
“Image Block” actually loads all images, but just doesn’t display them. So it’s basically uselesse for mobile/low bandwidth connections.
Test: If you load a webpage with “Image Block” enabled and wait until it’s finished, you can press the “Image Block”-button and all images instantly appear, so they are obviously preloaded.
Greetings,
Ole
Sorry, now with correct hyperlinks:

The browser icon is bugged on Mac OSX, we will replace it in the coming days… thanks for your feedback
The “Image Block version 0.1″ icon being displayed in the toolbar should be more differentiated between state on and off.
In our Safari 5.0.3 browser on Mac OS X 10.6.5 only a larger or smaller dark grey square is shown without a cross as in the screenshot above.

I have a problem.
Instead of an icon, I see a black square. And when I go to “Customize toolbar” in Safari, I see “button_tag” instead of the name of the button. See screenshot :
